Forest Lucuna series

2013 · Olsen Gallery

This series of works juxtaposes historical archives, represented by rows of aged books, with monochromatic depictions of Australian bushland, blending cultural memory with natural landscapes. Delicate butterflies flutter between these elements, serving as symbols of fragility and transformation, creating a dialogue between human history and the ephemeral beauty of nature. The interplay between the dense, linear structures of books and the organic intricacy of the trees invites reflection on preservation, decay, and the coexistence of human and natural narratives.
